Manoj Kashyap, PhD joined the Stem Cell Institute, Amity University Haryana, Panchgaon (Manesar) as an associate professor on 1st of Aug 2019. Prior to joining Amity, Manoj was an Assistant Professor at the Glocal University, SRE. Prior to returning to India, Manoj completed his postdoctoral fellowship from the Moores Cancer Center of the University of California, San Diego (Jan 2012-Jan 2017) in the group of Prof(s). Januario E. Castro, Michael D. Burkart, Michael Y. Choi. He completed his PhD in a joint Ph.D program by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore-Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore under the mentorship of Prof. Akhilesh Pandey. During the stay at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, he learned cutting edge technology e.g. DNA microarrays, mass spectrometry and cancer signalling and also worked in a collaborative project on lung cancer signalling with Dr(s). Harold E. Varmus/ Udayan Guha (NCI). During PhD work, he studied the molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis in esophageal cancers using DNA microarrays and quantitative proteomics using mass spectrometry. Currently, he is involved in studying the molecular mechanism of RNA splicing using splicing modulators in gastro-intestinal (GI) cancers through genomics/proteomics approaches. Additionally, he is involved in targeting the chemokine-chemoreceptors nexus such as CXCR4-CXCL12 to overcome the protection by the Tumor - microenvironment, its relevance in solid tumors using anti-CXCR4 antibodies/small molecules.
